# English PDF range and bookmark split checks

Checked 14 October 2026 using the existing self-authored eight-page English PDF.
The input has two front-matter pages and three two-page chapters. File page 3 is
printed page 1. The original source bytes and native outputs are retained.

Actual English-tool operations:
- Page Range 3-4: one two-page Area PDF.
- Page Range 7-8,3-4 with Input Order: Review then Area as separate PDFs in ZIP.
- The same ranges with Page Order: Area then Review, verified after the sorting
fix was published and a new live browser split completed.
- Level 1 Bookmark, Preserve Original Bookmark Structure Yes: three two-page
chapters covering source 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. Source pages 1-2 are omitted.

The initial live Page Order attempt incorrectly kept input order. That original
failure ZIP remains in local evidence. The shared sorting fix was tested in both
English and Chinese, built and browser-tested in CI, published with guarded
backups, then verified through a fresh live English download. Only the corrected
Page Order ZIP is offered as the current behavior example.

Selected page text, decoded content streams and geometry match the corresponding
source pages. The range outputs have no bookmarks. Each bookmark chapter retains
its parent at local page 1 and child at local page 2. A retained label alone is
not proof of a correct destination; these targets were inspected from the PDFs.

The file markers remain printed inside each page. FILE PAGE 03 / 08 in an output
does not mean that new file has eight pages. Small outputs display 0.00 MB in the
tool after rounding; they are valid nonempty PDFs. Read exact bytes and page count.

This sample does not test size-based estimates, password-protected files, forms,
signatures, physical printing or OCR. It does not promise all modes retain
bookmarks. Screenshot images are actual product UI or local PDFium renders of
actual output; the proof ZIP is assembled locally, not one native tool output.
The tool sorting correction changes range-group order without joining groups,
removing overlaps or mutating the entered sequence for Input Order.
