# Actual English Markdown merge checks

14 October 2026. Two self-authored English notes were selected in the English
Doc2X Markdown merge tool. The samples have repeated Summary/Data and formula
headings, two tables, two dollar-delimited equations and four footnote references.
Both files use the same source-note text and the same unit label with different
meanings. No customer data is included.

Three actual Markdown outputs are retained unchanged:
- default: Area then Motion, separator ---, heading levels retained, TOC enabled,
  footnote deduplication on, reference deduplication on, reference exclusion off;
- footnotes-off: same order/options except footnote deduplication off;
- reverse: Motion then Area, with default options. Reverse file selection was
  verified in the queue; this was not a drag-and-drop test.

Default/reverse each contain three footnote definitions and four references.
The shared source text is defined once. The two different unit notes remain
separate, with the colliding label renamed. With deduplication off there are four
separate definitions, and colliding labels are still renamed safely in this sample.
Six TOC links distinguish repeated headings with -1 suffixes. Both tables and
formula source strings remain in all outputs. Inspect the actual source files.

Local previews use Pandoc 3.4 with pipe tables, footnotes and dollar math, plus an
added stylesheet/notice. They are not product HTML/Word/PDF exports. Six TOC
targets exist in each preview; the second Summary and motion-unit footnote/backlink
were clicked in Chrome. Pandoc renders four footnote entries even from the default
MD with three definitions, because it renders the repeated reference again.
Source deduplication therefore does not guarantee a single displayed note in every
renderer. Other renderers may use different heading IDs and footnote behavior.

No native Word/PDF export, image-file packaging, multiline footnotes, reference
section removal or bibliography merging was tested. These notes contain no image
references or bibliography. The footnote option was restored to enabled; all
changes were confined to the agent-created tool sessions. No recognition or
translation task was created. The proof ZIP is a local collection, not a native
single product output.
